Ya-Hey Everybody,
just a reminder that next week is PMBC’s first monthly meeting for 2012.
Wow it’s been a year and time has gone by faster then Aaron Gwin on the downhill.
January is always the best time to pay your due because you can’t forget a new year.
If you look to your right you can see a “Members” number that is always growing and that’s
great but, that only reflects the Face book group. Though the majority of that number is paying members, a lot of them are not. We would like to have everyone as a paid member of PMBC.
Now everyone knows that you don’t have to be a paid member to join in on any of our rides, activities, or social events but, it helps to put on such events from your paid memberships.

Did you know that all paid members get a $% discount on all accessories and a $% on new bikes at Pasadena Cyclery Yes all that for only $10 a year. To join just stop by Pasadena Cyclery and give em 10 buck cash plus your info or you could Pay-pal on the PMBC site, pmbc.org or the best way is to come to January’s meeting. We could really use your help at the up coming meeting as we sample some new yogurt flavors and make money for the club. At our last 12hr. Race we lost two of our canopies to high winds and we need to replace them for next years events. A marketing firm will pay PMBC for every person who samples and gives feedback on the product.

It’s a New Year, time to pay up.

Thanks for helping,
Ray H.

We need ride leaders to step up. I have a Pearl Harbor Day Dive Bomb on Dec. 3rd and nobody to lead it. The plan was to go to Pinos but, they have snow already. The whole idea of a Dive Bomb is to get shuttled. If you look on the pmbc calendar you’ll see blank weekends so email me if you want to lead a ride.

I had the pleasure of testing the new DiamondBack Mission 3. I received the frame in the mail with the instructions to build it to the way I normally ride. Well, I’m 5′-7″ & 210lbs so, I’m not the fastest climber but, I do get to the top in a decent amount of time. I’ve been riding bikes all my life and mountain bikes for 20yrs of that. My type of riding would be classed as Flow, which is to climb to the top of the mountain and then decent through the tree covered single-track /switchback /drop offs with the least amount back wheel lock up and dabs. I promptly clamped the frame to my bike stand using the furnished Easton E50 seat post and seat clamp. A zero stack headset was also provided for the formed alloy cups. The first thing you notice about the Mission 3 is it’s hooded hydroformed top tube which explains itself later on the ride. The main section of the DiamondBack Mission 3 frame is its Knuckle Box design. The Knuckle Box is what keeps everything stable, add in the Fox RP 23 rear shock with a three stage select tuning pro-pedal and a full open stage and you get 6 inches of plush travel which will also explain itself on the ride. Combine all this and you have your self an efficient climbing machine at a good price tag.
