R.I.P. Jose “Hose-B” Ruelas September 18, 2007

Our numbers are lessened once again and, even though it never gets any easier having to bring up this kind of news, here it is.
On Tuesday, September 18th, our friend and regular riding partner, Jose Ruelas, also known as Hose-B, passed away. He leaves his wife, Lisa, and two sons, Gabriel and Evan. We are all stunned by their tremendous loss. Please keep them in your thoughts or prayers while dealing with the loss of our friend. To his immediate and extended family and friends, on and off the bike, please accept my condolences and those of the Pasadena Mountain Bike Club and know that we would gladly help in any way that we can.

Jose,
It seems that you went on without us. I hope that you are at peace and are in a better place, free from earthly pains and troubles. I hope you are somewhere where it’s always a perfect Summer day and there’s always plenty of great trails, epic rides and good times, because when your tire tracks are gone from all of your favorite trails, that’s how we will always remember our time spent with you as we ride on.
Peace
-Martin and your friends in the PMBC

Update!
Here’s a message from Jose’s wife, Lisa:
Jose was a lover of life. He played and worked hard. He loved his family, his friends, his bikes, his mountain. He valued the friends he found in PMBC. He became very close to many of you and I know that you shared many memories on the mountain and just hanging out.
Thank you for loving my husband, he loved you.

If you would like to come together, please feel free to either come to our home (3104 Casitas Ave, Altadena) on Saturday, September 22nd at 3pm (biking attire is encouraged) and/or Wednesday, September 26th at 7pm at Cabot and Sons, 27 Chestnut St., Pasadena 91103.

If people need to contribute, please contribute to our sons’ college fund. Checks can be made out to Edward Jones and please write: Gabriel and Evan Ruelas in the memo line.

Lisa Vigil Ruelas

Check the Forum or schedule for details about Saturday or watch for e-mail from Ray. We will be attending the service at the house, hopefully in force, with our bikes and in PMBC jerseys.
