First mountain bike? Daughters Trek 820 – no suspension.
Current mountain bike? Trek Fuel EX7, Montague MX Folding Bike.
How often do you ride? As often as possible, rarely Sundays.
Your favorite riding spot? Strawberry Loop and Mt. Pinos.
Do you race? I don’t know if you could call it racing, but I pay the fee and finish.
What’s your best race finish? 3rd in Geezer class at Rim Nordic. #4 crashed in front of me and broke his collarbone, DNF.
What’s your best crash? El P. Let a rock twist my front wheel and went off near vertical drop. Landed upside down with bike stuck in tree branches above me. Had to scoot down 20 feet to lower section of trail. Up side: besides bruises from hitting frame inside my thighs, no damage to bike or person. Not my worst crash by any measure, but the one I would most like to have on video.
What was the last thing you bought for your bike? Speedball hydraulic seat post.
What’s your favorite beverage? Diet Dr Pepper, Good Sangria.
What’s your favorite trail snack? Cliff bar Cool Mint, raisins.
What’s one thing that you’ve learned from mountain biking? Stop first, then enjoy the view.
