How long have you been mountain biking? 10 years.
First mountain bike? Trek 9900 – Black, Full XTR.
Current mountain bike? Trek 9.8 (Sweet Smell of Carbon), GT STS (Standard Thermoplastic Sh*t, Trek 990 (Steel, Baby…and Rigid), GT I-Drive Frameset with all the parts, and a Bontrager Cyclcross bike D/A and XTR. (I left out the two Road Bikes).
How often do you ride? Everyday to work.
Your favorite riding spot? Rock Creek, Mammoth.
Do you race? Once upon a time.
What’s your best race finish? 3rd at Santa Fe Dam.
What’s your best crash? Tie between taking out Martin Gomez on Brown, breaking wheel, helmet, shifter and separating shoulder, and the flat landing pile on the Hoyt jump that broke my seat, Rolex band and carving a half moon on my scrotum from the stem.
What was the last thing you bought for your bike? Tubes.
What’s your favorite beverage? Craftsman Orange Grove and Coca-Cola.
What’s one thing that you’ve learned from mountain biking? It hurt to be fat and heavy!
What’s your favorite trail snack? Banana Bread.
If you had a $100 burning a hole in your pocket right now, what would you buy? Heavy Duty Springs for my Bomber and some new cantilever brake pads.
